MISSION STATEMENT

​

As an LADC 1 (Licensed Alcohol Drug Counselor 1), I am genuinely committed to my clients and their journey recovering from the effects of substance use/abuse and addiction. My aim is to help them build and develop healthier coping skills and behaviors. I will always be a patient  advocate at heart, and always strive to preserve my reputation for making sure that appropriate services are available and accessible for clients.
 

I bring three very unique perspectives, which will allow me to work with clients as they embark  upon this journey. First, having had a personal journey, I have a thorough understanding of how the family system and public safety are impacted by addiction and unhealthy choices. Second, having worked with high risk populations, I understand the psycho-social stressors they face and can work to develop a therapeutic alliance with them in a clinical setting. Finally, having broad exposure in many varied human service occupations, I have been afforded an opportunity to acquire a repertoire of life skills and exposure to different environments, ethnicities, cultures, and beliefs; teaching me the importance and appreciation of cultural diversity and sensitivity.

 

I also believe recovery support is the sustaining effort required for effective change. I encourage individuals to develop a stable recovery support network because treatment is not eternal. Having the support of others, particularly family members and those in recovery who have rebuilt their lives, gives individuals hope and confidence that they too can improve the quality of their life.
